Happy Memorial Day!

On this Memorial Day, we remember those friends and family who have gone before us. We reminiscence and share memories of them. We also want to thank the men and women of the military serving here and beyond, as well as the police, fire fighters and emergency personnel. Thank you for your sacrifices!

Also, I wanted to share a little exciting news-I submitted a photo to the MCP Actions blog-you should check out Jodi's actions and templates; they are truly awesome. And...my photo was selected with some other amazing images to share our patriotism on this special day. Check it out here: Patriotic Images on the MCP blog.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

B Family ~ Nampa Family Photographer

This adorable family was fun to photograph-the kids are so cute and kept me on my toes. I am having a hard time narrowing down all the great images! Dad had just returned from working overseas and I know they are grateful to have him home safe and sound. Thanks B family for your sacrifice for our country and for the fun evening together! Love the way Mom is looking at Dad in the second one-lots of love between these two. Here's your sneak peek. Your gallery will be finished soon. And if this post receives 10 or more comments I will gift this family a 5X7 print of one of the images. Feel free to share.

Little Dancers ~ Idaho Children's Photography

So this week I'm busy working on two very fun family sessions, so until they are ready to post, I thought I'd put up a few more from the dance studio. I love getting in close and getting the details.

That's something I'd also suggest to all those moms out their with your cameras. Get your kids outside and let them play-then get in close with your camera. Get their messy hands playing in the dirt or gripping the baseball bat. Look for different angles too to show the ordinary in a fun new way.

Little ballerinas

These little ones are so cute, I just couldn't help post these from dance class the other day.

Summer bookings ~ Children/Family Photography

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice warm weather and getting ready for summer break. I know I'm excited to have my kiddos home for awhile. We have lots of activities planned-playing outside in the water, summer reading programs, vacation Bible schools and a trip to see my family. I hope whatever summer plans you have, you enjoy them with those you love.

Just a few housekeeping things; I am currently booking sessions for June and August. I will be in Kansas for most of July and will not be booking any sessions in Idaho that month. *Unless you are expecting and due this summer, then contact me ASAP and I will fit you in before I leave.

The Children's Special, which is a $50 session fee with 1 5X7 gift print is available until June 21. The image will also be entered in the Millers Baby and Child portrait contest. These are open to children 12 and under. Session fee is for one child.

My introductory print rates will expire at the end of May. If you would like a session with me, please call ASAP. For those who book their summer session before the end of May, your session will be booked (meaning a signed portrait agreement & payment) at the a sitting fee of $150 and the introductory price list. That price list will remain in effect up to 30 days after your session. Any orders placed after that will be priced at the standard pricing. Session fees, and gift and wall print prices are available on my website, www.maggiemalsonphotography.com, and collection pricing will be added shortly. I am also happy to discuss your investment in custom portrait photography with you in person or over the phone.

By choosing me as your photographer, you see the value in my time and talent, and the memories I capture for you. As your personal, professional photographer, I commit to providing you with the best service and highest quality products I can. I am truly thankful for all of my clients who have been with me from the beginning and who continue to trust me to capture their lifestyle and their memories. Thank you! And for those of you who are looking for a custom photographer, I would love the chance to meet you and your family!

Okay, enough of the business stuff. Onto the photo...here is another image from my dance studio sessions. I just love the simplicity of this.

Beautiful Ballerina ~ New Plymouth Dance Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing the dancers from Elite Dance Academy in New Plymouth. This is Miss S, one of the beautiful dancers. I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites. It was a great experience and I'm excited to get back all of the orders for the girls. If you would like more information on the studio, contact the owner and director, Carla Malson. The studio is located on Main Street in downtown New Plymouth. She offers classes for children, teens and adults, including ballet, jazz, hip hop and stretch and tone. There are several dancers competing in Utah this weekend. Good luck girls!

A Family ~ Payette Family Photographer

This family was a pleasure to photograph. Jennifer actually won a complimentary session at the Wine & Chocolate Affaire back in February. Imagine how excited I was when I realized I was going to get to photograph 6 month old twins! These babies are beautiful and such little miracles. It was obvious their parents love each other and them very much. If this post receives 10 or more comments, I will gift a 5X7 to them. I had a hard time picking my favorites! What about you?

Mr A ~ Payette Children's Photographer

Mr. A was an absolute doll. We met at the park a few weeks ago--played with bubbles, played with sticks, checked out the water, went on the slide--he's a busy little guy. Thank you Chelsea for letting me capture these memories of your little man. It was my pleasure! And if this post receives 10 or more comments, this family will receive a complimentary 5X7 as a gift from me.

Changing it up-part 2

I have been wanting to change things up on the blog for awhile and really showcase my images much larger. I asked a friend, RK, at Just RK Designs, to help me out. I'm still working on some of the elements, but I love the changes so far. I still really like my logo and the black & white look I've chosen for my branding. It's classy, but also fun, which is how I'd describe my style. I feel my portraits are timeless, but also capture the fun and personality of each individual child and family I capture. Now on the posts! I have a lot of sessions to share. Thanks to my awesome clients!

changing things up

So things may look a little crazy for a few days as I switch over to a new blog design. Stay with me! It will be great when it's finished.

Mother's Day Giveaway winners announced! ~ Fruitland Family Photographer

I didn't forget; just busy with Little E's birthday today! I am excited to announce the winners of the Mother's Day Giveaway, but first I want to thank all the women who submitted comments-either mom's themselves or about their special moms. Also, thank you to Debbie, Jennifer, Kandice, Lisa, Crystal and Katia. These women made generous offerings of products and certificates to make this giveaway even better. Thank you to them, and I encourage you to visit their sites and support these other small businesswomen in our area.

Debbie with Arbonne International
Kandice with Pampered Chef
Jennifer with PartyLite
Lisa with Mary Kay
Katia with Simply Stated
Crystal with Scentsy

And now, without further delay, I had my friend Deanna of Accent Design do the drawings for me using random.org. Deanna does graphic design and custom wedding invitations plus more. She has helped me so much and does excellent work. Check it out!

The first winner of a custom photography session with MMPD & $25 print credit, a $50 gift certificate to Arbonne International, a $25 gift certificate to PartyLite and a $15 gift certificate to Pampered Chef is....

Chelsea, who said: I know that everyone says this, but my mom, Tina Turpin really is the best! Being a mother is what she does. And she loves it. She puts up with us when we're hard to handle and she's always there for us. Always. I love that I can always talk to her about anything, whether it's friend problems, boys, stress about school, just anything. Not only is she my mother, but she's one of my best friends. I wouldn't trade her for the world. I love my mom and she is definitely the best!

The second winner who receives a custom photography session from MMPD and $25 print credit, plus products from Mary Kay, Scentsy and Simply Stated is....

karen, who said: Nothing in life could offer a greater sense of purpose and direction than "training up a child in the way he should go". Not a day goes by that I don't look at my girls in amazement that they belong to me and I belong to them. They each bring such blessings to my life! I love being their mother!

Congratulations ladies, please contact me and I'll deliver your wonderful giveaways. Thanks again to all the women who participated and donated product. I wish you all a very special Mother's Day! God bless Moms everywhere!

15 months -Parma children's photographer

So here is another "Mine on Monday" post, with only an hour to spare. Little J turned 15 months today! He's getting busier all the time. This is such a fun age. I have lots more to blog about, including some new sneak peeks and a new blog reveal, but I'm holding my eyelids open, so I better get some shut eye for now. Night folks!
