A New Beginning ~ Newborn Portrait Photographer

You can bet I was so excited to get my hands on my newest niece, Jalyn Kate! She was the sweetest little thing. And of course I forgave her when she messed all over me right at the beginning of her session. :0) Those are the hazards of being a newborn photographer, but it's totally worth being around all the sweet little babies. These were just a few from my late night editing session. Will have more soon. If you are expecting, call today to schedule your newborn session before the baby arrives. Also, you can save by booking a Belly & Baby Plan.

Expecting Mama +Sunset = Beautiful

Don't need to say much more than that! It was fun to capture these images for my cousin while we were on vacation in Kansas. Having a hard time deciding which is my favorite. What do you think? If this post receives 10 or more comments, she will receive a complimentary gift print. Can't wait to meet her little girl.

E + W = Love

I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding last weekend in Kansas. It's always special to capture a milestone day for a couple as they begin the next journey in life as husband and wife. Plus, this wedding was extra special as it was my cousin E saying "I do." She was simply stunning and the love between these two was very apparent. Thank you both for choosing me to capture your special day. May you have a very blessed marriage. Plus, you simply can not beat a Kansas sunset! And, if this post receives 10 or more comments, the happy couple will receive a complimentary gift print from me.

(We were blessed with this amazing orange sky right before a summer thunderstorm.)

Linky Love and some things to be thankful for

Just thought I'd share some linky love with you all. Here are some IRL (in real life) and Internet places I've found recently. If you get a chance, you should check them out.

For the locals in the area, there is great new consignment furniture and clothing store in downtown Payette, on Main Street. Have you heard of it? It's called ReDesign-consignment home furnishings. They also have very nice gently used women's clothing. That part of the store is called Refined Style-consignment boutique & gift shoppe. I encourage you to stop by and say hi to Cissy and Karen! They are open five days a week too from 10-5. Really cool stuff-some new, some vintage, but all neat!

A new site that I've found recently is Simply Modern Mom. It's totally with crafts, home decor, photography, organizational tips and much more. Check it out. Also, she happens to be having a cool giveaway for a purse/camera bag, from Jo Totes. Everyone needs one of these-even if you don't carry a camera-they would make a great diaper bag or purse. I have my eye on the new rose vintage bag. I think maybe in plum even!

Do you have a family, children, maternity or couples photography session coming up? Wondering what to wear? Well, check out this blog every Wednesday for some great ideas. Your clothing choices should reflect your personality-whether it be simple and timeless or fun, colorful and full of texture. As part of your pre-session consultation with me, we can discuss clothing options that will enhance the look and feel of your session.

I love the Pioneer Woman-her writing, her photography, her story, her food! And I just can't wait to try some of these new brownie and bar recipes on the Tasty Kitchen. I can't decide which ones to try first though! Oh, and check out this little recipe, Mystery Mocha. Doesn't that just sound delicious-like it's daring you to try it? What do you think?

Well, I think that's it for now, but a post isn't complete without at least one photo. And actually here are three. They also happen to the be the "something(s)" I'm thankful for. I am thankful for this land, our ranch, our home, our family and our opportunity. I am thankful that each day I look outside and see these black beauties in the pastures outside our home. I'm thankful our children will grow up learning the value of hard work and taking care of the animals we raise and the land we live on. I'm thankful for the opportunity to capture these little moments of the kids checking out the cows after their bath, before bedtime, on a warm, summer night. Who doesn't just want to run outside and say hi to the critters over the fence?! :0)

As we head into the 4th of July weekend, I hope everyone has a safe and happy celebration of America. It's a wonderful place to live! God bless the U.S.A.!
